  • The water cooled units can provide sustained performance in ATVs, pontoon boats, pleasure launches, theme park vessels and mission specific military vehicles.
  • The DSP based controllers, with appropriate software, can network multiple motors to provide adaptive speed/torque control to drive wheels operating on dissimilar surfaces, enhance steering of the vehicle or vessel with twin propellers.
  • Properly configured CMI electric drive systems can easily double the performance of a brush motor and lead acid system. Long service life is assured due to the designed in ability to withstand harsh hot and dusty, wet and salty environments.

Wheelchair Application

CMI’s Brushless DC Gearmotor with integral driver electronics is a perfect match in the application for an Electric Wheelchair. There are many advantages of using our motor vs. using the conventional brush-type DC motor.

Wheelchair
  • No Brushes – Brushes are a common failure mode in brush-type DC motors and they add to the inefficiency of the system. This leads to a quicker discharge on the battery pack which results in a reduced range for the wheelchair.
  • Integral Electronics – Most motor manufacturers provide just that - the motor. Leaving the task of the motor control to the wheelchair manufacturer. We can integrate our electronics/motor to the system. This will ease the development task of the wheelchair manufacturer.
  • Power to Size Ratio – Our brushless DC gearmotor system can out perform brush-type DC motors that are larger in size. Understand that our system includes the electronics to control the motor as well.
  • Proven Reliability – The last thing that a person operating a wheelchair wants is for a motor to fail on their wheelchair while they are travelling. Our brushless DC gearmotor system will outlast any brush-type motor.

Welder Indexer
  • CMI brushless DC motors, motor drivers and actuators have standard NEMA mounting features for easy replacement of other motors and actuators. If your application requires unique mounting considerations, CMI will offer modifications or adapters to suit your specific requirement.
  • CMI Actuators are offered with position feedback using an integrated linear potentiometer. Force can be monitored with an integrated load cell. Acme screw, Ball screw, and roller screw configurations can be specified in the same compact size.
  • Electrical connections to CMI products will typically use standard high quality connectors that are commercially available. In some applications where special conditions such as high temperature, chemical exposure, submersion or some unusual combination of adversities exceed commercial availability, CMI will offer a connector or interconnect hardware designed specifically for your application.
