About Us
The products of Composite Motors, Inc. (CMI), all have characteristics imparted by the company’s foundation in proprietary materials, hence the motto “Raw Materials to Raw Power”. These products include Brushless DC motors, motor drivers, Lithium Ion batteries and Battery Management Systems, gear motors and linear actuators.
All are truly Made In USA, in one of our two vertically integrated factory locations. We process our own raw materials for hermetic enclosures, power dissipation substrates and electrical interconnect junctions. All tooling for stamping and assembly of stators, rotors, winding equipment and molds are designed and built in house. The same is true for circuit design, board layout and power plane assembly. Our Brushless DC and Servo motors have integrated DSP based motor drivers; some have integral planetary gear reducers which are also made in house.
All products at CMI undergo the same AS9100 certified design, manufacture and testing protocol. CMI products are individually great, but a custom configured system of CMI matched components can provide an even better solution to your requirements. Contact us for a custom solution to your needs.
Composite Modules was founded in Attleboro, Massachusetts in 1967 manufacturing semiconductor packaging materials for the electronics industry. For over 40 years, CMI has met the demand for smaller size, greater functionality and higher precision electronic products for extreme environments. Our commitment to quality and our success in design and development led to expansion, diversification and the creation of our sister company, Composite Motors.
The management and staff at Composite Motors, Inc. have adopted Quality as a business initiative not just a quality initiative.
Our quality management system is overseen and maintained by a certified Quality Engineer and trained quality staff.
Our Design Engineers utilize a documented system of review and verification to be sure designs meet our customer’s specifications.
The assembly staff is trained to document procedures and the training is evaluated for effectiveness.
Composite Motors, Inc. houses a Material Review Board to root cause and failure analyze defects in materials, processes and procedures.
A system of internal auditing maintains the Quality system’s integrity while creating an atmosphere of continual improvement.
